Luna's House is Paws Unite People’s Rehabilitation Facility and is designed to benefit both people and animals in their daily life interactions. We believe both human and animal alike deserve assistance and a second chance. We have a Feline Rehabilitation Center open in Middle Island, NY. Cats are not kept in small cages, they live in an open environment. We have special need adults come visit and work with the cats, we train our therapy animals there, and we use the space to rehabilite abused, neglected, and shelter animals. Our goal is to raise $6000 by the time our lease at our current location is up, so we can move to a larger larger facility to be able to help both dogs and cats in one place. Presently, all our dogs are kept in foster homes, and trained at the center.
Luna's House is funded by general donations, sponsorships, our members personal funds, adoption fees, and grants. We are currently looking for a space that is approximately 4500sq. feet. This will allow socialization rooms, kennel runs that are large enough to fit a twin size bed and do not "feel" or look like cages for the dogs, larger cat habitats, a training area, and meeting space.
